Residency at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia

Last year, an application I made for an artist’s residency at the renowned Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia was accepted – and the time has now come to attend.

From late June into early July, I’ll be taking residence at the Arvo Pärt Centre where I will be given a dedicated space and uninterrupted time to write, reflect and work on new compositions.

The centre is located in the regional area of Laulasmaa, around 40 minutes from the city of Tallinn – watch this short video for a walk-through of the residency.

The centre’s residency programme offers artists the chance to explore new ideas and concentrate on their work. The centre awards a residency scholarship twice a year, but in my case, the trip is non-scholarship and self-funded.

While there, I’ll be working on an ambitious new album entitled Illuminator. An epic meditation on the human capacity for brutality, the degradation of nature and the insidious effects of technology, Illuminator is also a celebration of compassion, resistance and the ultimate resilience of the human spirit.

To learn more about “Illuminator” and to follow my progress throughout the residency, join me on Instagram or subscribe to my mailing list.
